March 28 (Reuters) - Personal-care products maker Nu Skin Enterprises Inc said it will have to pay about $33 million in customs duties in Japan and its first-quarter results will be hurt by the disasters in the Asian country.
Nu Skin said it will have to pay about $33 million in customs duties on products shipped from 2002 to 2005, after a Tokyo District Court upheld a decision by Japanese customs.
Nu Skin said it is likely to appeal.
Provo, Utah-based Nu Skin said the recent disasters in Japan will bring down its revenue by $3-5 million and earnings by 1-2 cents a share in the first quarter.
